The Challenge
Create an app to track a consumer’s whiskey collection, help find hard-to-source whiskeys, and track an infinity bottle in one app.
Flint Hills Group wanted to expand its offerings by building a custom software solution. So they held a contest to study different software solutions and found the winning idea: to build a whiskey app. The challenge was creating an app to track a consumer’s whiskey collection in their own personal database, help find hard-to-source whiskeys, and track an infinity bottle in one app.
The Problem
There is no comprehensive app that exists to track a consumer’s whiskey collection, find hard-to-source whiskeys, and track a personal infinity bottle all in one. While there were wine collector apps out there, there is no such thing for the whiskey market. “Dozens of websites and apps existed with similar data about whiskey,” said Flint Hills Group CEO Dave Cunningham, “but, unfortunately, none of the data is easily accessible, and we wanted to build a place that would provide this for whiskey enthusiasts only.”
